Panda Blairgowrie is fashioned around the simple concept of sharing. The sharing of food, wine, laughter and good vibes was the main motivation when creating both the fit out of the venue, along with the menus.

Transforming the existing modest Indian restaurant into a café and dining room, the other main influences in the venue are natural products and sustainability.

Panda consists of a main dining room and has the added addition of a rear courtyard (coming in October 2018!), along with a separate front outdoor seating area. Surrounded by greenery, the menu is inspired by seasonal and local produce.

Panda Blairgowrie is situated just over an hour from Melbourne and is located on one of Australia’s most celebrated regions, the Mornington Peninsula. This is where we source as much of our produce as possible, for both our café and dining menu, along with our Peninsula inspired beverage list.

WHY PANDA?

Upon opening Panda Blairgowrie, the most frequently asked question was ‘Will you be serving Asian Cuisine’?
This is certainly the most obvious question, but Panda was named after one of our Old English Sheep Dog puppies, whom we clearly adore. Panda also has a love of food second to none, so it seemed fitting.

We are hoping to open a brother venue in the future and name it after Panda’s big brother, Bentley, but for now poor Bentley only gets a dish named after him on Panda’s menu.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

At Panda Blairgowrie our food philosophy comes from respect for the Earth, from what we can source locally and our commitment to sustainability. Preserving, pickling and picking from our own herb garden are just some of the ways that we work to create minimal waste.

We work closely with some of the Mornington Peninsula, Gippsland and Greater Victoria’s finest producers, many of which are on our doorstep, who also share similar passion and mindset.

Where possible, our cheeses are obtained from Main Ridge Dairy, our wines are sourced from local vineyards, such as Foxeys Hangout, Montalto and Tucks Ridge.

Our beer and ciders are procured from St. Andrews Brewery and The Old Apple Shed, all which are located on the Mornington Peninsula.

And whilst our coffee supplier, Genovese, is far from being a local business, they take their responsibility to the environment and future generations of coffee growers and drinkers seriously. We proudly stock three of their blends, one being organic, and all three being carbon neutral products.

Panda Blairgowrie also offers organic milk, sourced from Schulz Dairy located in Victorias western Region.

THE REVIEWS ARE IN…

Thankyou Panda for a fabulous lunch today! Dining out with 3 fussy kids is always tricky but there was something for everyone. We loved the paper on the tables so the kids (we) could do some drawing and the atmosphere was welcoming and professional. Great food, coffee, nice priced wine + attentive staff. We’ll be telling everyone we know to visit.
